Finally got around to changing my little avatar image for this site.  Had it as my Sim self for a while but I decided it was time for a change.  It was a toss up between my Fallout 3 chick or one of my Dragon Age girlies.  Mahina, my previous mage, has been taken to the after life of deleted characters.  She was much loved but, since I’ve done some modding and what not, I decided I needed a new mage and made Kendra.  Pretty similar to Mahina but there is enough of difference in my head(heh, she got to kiss Cullen).  Instead I went with Xyrygosa, my D&D dwelf in her Dragon Age dwarven form.  I nabbed a nifty screen shot with a great expression.  To me it read, “Bah?! Wtf?”  Yeah….I’m a dork.  Images below of my digital self. (more…)

in more ways then one.  I finished my last final today and the only bad thing was the smell.  Nothing is worse, in my opinion, then preserved cats that are finally starting to decay.  You have the smell of the chemicals as well as, well, rotting flesh.   I don’t think it helped that we had day old cow tongue and about 3 hearts laying around.  Oddly enough our ‘fresh’ dog wasn’t out, so I’m guessing he wasn’t smelling and looking too good for the test.

To make things worse, I get home and BAM!  A mosquito bites me. 😐  While that’s not bad for most people, it’s bad for me.  I have an allergic reaction to the bites and have had this since I was a wee one.  Seriously, one year I had a bite just above/below(depends on my arm’s orientation) my elbow.  Stupid me decides to scratch it to make it feel better.  By the end of the day my forearm was swollen slightly and painful.  Then two years ago I got two bites on my forehead and I scratched them, though it was AFTER I scratched them when Grendal noticed they were bug bites.  I looked like Quasimodo for a short time and ended up going to the ER when the swelling threatened not only my eye but my nose.  Last thing I need is an eye swollen shut and my breathing compromised.  I now keep a good collection of Benadryl with me during warm weather…..can never be too safe.

But yeah…’s done with and I can start relaxing, working on D&D (including the next little story!), and what not.  I have to fish out my terminology book to keep things fresh, but that shouldn’t be too hard.

I’m making my way through Alan Wake again, this time on Hard, and plan on doing it a 3rd time at some point.  Grendal is obsessed with ModNation Racers right now, which brings our PS3 collection up to 4…..I think.  That system has a while to go before it racks up a game count in our home.  I’m hoping the Ico Team follows the God of War collection idea; I think Grendal would love to have Ico and Shadow of the Colossus in the PS3.  Me?  I’m just waiting for Reach to come out as well as Fable 3 and, possibly, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions….Okay, I lied, there are so many games I’m waiting for. XD  You can’t stop me from lovin’ my games.

….yeah…..I restarted Dragon Age thanks to some nifty mods. *gigglesnort*

I don’t post many pictures, of anything, and sometimes it’s hard for me to get my descriptions across when it comes to my D&D characters.  Even though she’s no longer a playable character, this is what Xyrygosa was supposed to look like(in a way):

This was a head mod that I had created for female dwarves, and I have a few for the menfolk as well.  It was mainly due to the fact the the DA:O dwarves looked a little funky and the women weren’t as cute as they could be.  Me being the creator I decided to add in the base of Xyry’s face! 😀  My only complaint was that here skin wasn’t as olive toned as it was supposed to be.  I got her hair and eyes down rather well with some other mods, and the base tattoos worked rather well for the ones she had.  I have her wielding a hammer in the game, which fits what she ran around with in the campaign.  I can’t wait to get to the point where I can make her a berserker. lol!  The sad thing is that I’m not sure who she’d go after: Alistair or Zevran.  😐  Though I could be a dork and wait until the Loghain romance mod is released…*snrk* riiight…..the bastard.

Yeah, Easter has come and gone.  I usually spend time with Grendal and his extended family during the holidays, though I do hang out with my family for 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.  Saddly this year Grendal and I weren’t able to attend the family get together becasue he wasn’t feeling well.  Besides, it’s more of a child’s holiday than anything else.  I celebrated in my own fashion, with games of course!  I had the religious thing down thanks to Dante’s Inferno(finally got it, and the Divine Edition no less!!) and then the rising from the dead shebang with Left 4 Dead 2.  I know that it probably sounds bad that I did that, but I’m not part any form of the Judeo-Christian religions.  While I do love getting in to religious talks and debates, I’ll just keep this short: I am Pagan.  Take that as you will; you worship your deity and I worship mine.

Anywho, I saw Clash of the Titans on friday!  I’ve seen the ’81 version and barely remember it, but I did notice that a lot of things were changed for this reimaging.  This is one of those movies that you have to watch with no regard to the first because they really can’t compare.  In all honesty only two things really bothered me about the movie: the lack of the Gods interacting with each other and the introduction of Io.  I can let the interaction of the Gods slide because some people wouldn’t find that interesting and it would screw up the flow of action.  But Io?  The movie presented her as another demi-god and eventual love interest for Perseus.  😐  Who to the what now?  Io was one of Zesus’ many women and was eventually turned into a freakin’ cow!  I won’t go into the details/rant of the entire thing, but they TOTALLY fucked that up.

But yeah, good movie!  Worth a watch if you can disconnect it from the 81 version.

Renny has finally begun to play Dragon Age.  I’ve loaned him my copy since I just need to use the Awakening disc now.  He’s enjoying it and I’ve given him a list of mods to get him started, though it was kind of rough to get it working.  I told him he needed to read everything the creators put down, I even wrote that same statement down on the list of mods to look at.  What happens?  He has a mod refuse to work because he didn’t read the part where he had to have a compatability file as well(it’s fixed now).  We’ve talked over text about the game but the moment we’re in person Renny begins talking only to Grendal.  Grendal did try to get me in the conversation after noticing, since I’m the only one that has beat it so far, but Renny seemed intent on only talking to him.  I debated about saying something but didn’t; I swear I’ll say something one of these days.  Grendal feels bad but doesn’t know what to do, but it’s my problem and I’ll do something…..even if it means getting mean, since it does annoy the crap out of me.

Other than that not much has happened in my life.  Gaming is going on as usual, a new quarter of school has started, and the countdown for the Halo: Reach beta has begun!

Yesterday was fun, though a little disappointing at the same time.  I tried my hand at making something in Halo’s Forge for the first time.  It was kick ass and I made a game mode for it too.  We get together with Renny and Gigs to play and we hop into, what I deem, Goblin City…..and it’s fucked up.  The lights weren’t working and I was like “What the fuck?”  We messed around with some of things but come to find out, only one person can be on the screen to play it properly.  I was obviously upset but the guys made me feel better by saying it looked awesome and it sucked that we couldn’t play it.  Grendal told me later that Halo just couldn’t contain my awesomeness.  🙂  I love my Grendal!

So, after messing around with a wee bit of Halo3(Living Dead weekend, yo!) and then Perfect Dark, we decided to make dinner and watch a movie.  What movie, you say?  Well, the most awesome of childhood movies: The Dark Crystal!  Renny had never seen and Gigs owned a DVD copy, which is much better than Grendal’s VHS, and we watched it.  It put Gigs and I in the mood to watch Labyrinth, but we can’t watch it next week because we’ll be off watching Clash of Titans!  Freakin’ sweet!!!

I had to uninstall, reinstall, and delete some stuff from my Sims2 stuff to get it working properly.  There were issues of jumping/stuttering Sims and the fact that they couldn’t change their clothes.  Turns out that I had outdated and copys of some mods and after hours of fuckin’ around with the stuff, I fixed it.  Saddly, the sims I made of my friends and myself died. 😦  As well as some sweet looking shirts I made.  I’m currently rebuilding myself and those shirts, so I might have some updated shot of Smish me!

Renny finally tried out a little of Dragon Age, thanks to Gigs having his copy on him.  Renny liked it, though he was reluctant to admit it.  I told him that if his computer can handle it I’ll lend him my copy since all I need is the Awakening disc to run it.  I also promised to give him the mods that I use too….which will prove to be interesting.  I showed him how detailed the moders get, showing him the Natural Bodies All in One mod that modifies the bodies(dur) of the people in the game.  It gets rid of the hideous underwear and gives them a nice look.  Seriously, I would rather have them run around stark naked and boners out in the open then look at that hideous stuff. :p  The other one that might shock him is the Better Sex Scenes mod. OwO  Love it!  But yeah….my mods will make it that much more awesome, if his computer can handle it.

I’ve been chugging my way through Dragon Age Origin Awakening(hence force known as DA:OA because I’m not typing it all out) and I’m enjoying it ever so much.  I’m happy that Steve Blum has done a better job with his voices.  He does the voices for Oghren and Gorim, and knowing that voice from a hell of a lot of other things(like Cowboy Bebop), I was happy that he changed Oghren’s voice in Awakening.  Now when I listen to Oghren, I hear nothing of Gorim!

Yeah…that’s my character right there!  >w<  My mage, Mahina.

I’m finding myself both liking and disliking Anders.  I like him because he’s that middle ground of Alistair and Zevran but I dislike him because he’s too much like Alistair.  It’s like the creators were worried that the female fans would be in an uproar that Alistair was gone, so they had to come up with the next best thing.  😐  Want to know what would make little ol’ me happy?  The opportunity to have my character talk with the characters in this expansion as well as having some romance.   Seriously….I want my chickie to get all happy in the sack with Anders or Nathaniel.  Though she’d probably go for Anders, while I’m leaning more towards Nathaniel(yes, I keep myself and my characters separated).  I have both guys pretty much at 100 for their liking me and I’m sitting there like “There has to be more.”  Nope…no, luck.  I want my loving!

More than likely I’m gonna reply DA:O to get my male character started and finished, then ship him into DA:OA so he’s all buffed up.  Gonna have him be a Dalish and chase Zevran so I can see how my Better Sex Scene mod works.  Yeah, have yet to get around to that and I doubt Grendal would want his male character to get it on with a guy.  Me?  My characters are all ‘free love’ when it comes to that.

Tomorrow is Halo day, since we can’t figure out what else to play….which is fine by me.  We’re hoping that two friends from the Wisconsin area can make it down to say hi, which will make for an interesting day.

Dragon Age Origins Awakening came out yesterday, and it is in my hands too!  I installed the lovely game and went ahead and beat the original….finally.  I know it’s been out for a while but with school and life(and other games), it was hard for me to finish it.  I was relatively happy with the game and how it ended, and I can’t really figure out how it could’ve been better!  So after that I went ahead and started up Awakening.

I will admit that I haven’t gotten far.  I’ve just ran in to Oghren, so those playing the game can get a relative idea of where I’m at.  I stopped at that point because I was tired and annoyed with Demon Souls(don’t like the game too much, but I’ll give it another chance).  So yes, at this point you have a total of 3 people, including Oghren.  Your other companions are Mhairi, an ex-army chickie who wants to be a Grey Warden, and then you have Anders, a human male mage(who is an apostate).  Mhairi isn’t too bad and I’m hoping she gets better as time goes by but when I ran into Anders and interacted with him, I couldn’t help but do a body flail and stare at the screen: Anders is the middle ground of Zevran and Alistair……it’s as if the two had some man sex(I mean no offense) and one of them gave birth to Anders.  Others have seen the Alistair in Anders, like his humor and laid back attitude, but I’m not sure if they’ve noticed the Zevran…..and I may be wrong seeing that I’m barely in the game.  It bothers me slightly, but I am happy that there is a middle ground character now!  But, you can’t date him. :<
